Recently, Peter Sun, CEO of FFTV Online Media, Chairman of the Hollywood Film and Short Drama Association and renowned director, together with Christine, Secretary-General of FFTV Online Media, held multiple meetings with J.P. Zhang, Chairman of Micro Short Drama Vision (Guangdong) Cultural Technology Co., Ltd., an enterprise within the ByteDance Volcano Engine ecosystem. The two parties conducted in-depth discussions on “exporting Chinese short dramas overseas” and “bringing Chinese culture to the world,” and reached a consensus on close collaboration.
During the meetings, Peter Sun pointed out that while TikTok’s future in the U.S. remains uncertain, both domestic Chinese short drama platforms and those operating in the U.S. are facing significant challenges brought about by international geopolitical situations and policy changes. He emphasized that only by establishing a platform like FFTV Online Media in the U.S.—particularly in Hollywood, the birthplace of film and television culture—can a solid foundation be created to open global markets for Chinese short drama culture, paving the way for innovation and growth.
Under the cooperation plan, Micro Short Drama Vision will leverage its extensive library of over 10,000 hit short dramas and form a strategic partnership with FFTV Online Media. Together, the two parties aim to meet the rapidly growing demand for short drama content in North America and other international markets, advancing the internationalization of Chinese short drama culture and delivering a richer content experience for global audiences.
Christine, Secretary-General of FFTV Online Media, further highlighted the core advantages of the FFTV platform during the meetings:
- Deep expertise in capital operations on Wall Street.
- Extensive creative resources, celebrity connections, and producer networks accumulated over many years in Hollywood.
- Rich industry experience and a global perspective.
She emphasized that these strengths would seamlessly integrate with Micro Short Drama Vision’s domestic expertise in content creation, technological innovation, and market operations in China. The partnership aims to inject fresh vitality into the global short drama market and produce high-quality content that combines cultural significance with commercial potential.
This collaboration not only demonstrates the global potential of Chinese short dramas but also provides a new pathway for Chinese culture to “go global.” Peter Sun, Christine, and J.P. Zhang unanimously agreed that their joint efforts would usher in a new development phase for the short drama industry, with a promising future ahead.
Other attendees at the meetings included H.Z. Liu, Chief Supervisor of the Shenzhen Decoration Industry Association and Chairman of Shenzhen Decoration Network Technology Co., Ltd., Jinghui, President of the Tibetan Chamber of Commerce in the United States, and Stan Xu, Secretary-General of the Hollywood Film and Short Drama Association.
